Springs are largely categorized into compression, tension, torsion and formed wire springs. They are used in many different ways in automobiles for various important functions. Valve spring used in the engine is one of the typical precision springs.
Valve springs
Applied to the automotive engines, the valve springs are subject to a crucial repeated load as well as lightweight and cost reduction requirement. Chuo has a variety of materials suitable for customer’s requests with our simulation technologies developed to meet wide range of needs.
Heat resistant springs
Under circumstances over 600 C, the springs can keep their functions, based on our R & D on materials. These springs are mainly used for exhaust mufflers.
Ark springs
The shape is of ark. When these springs are arranged in circular form, especially for disk brakes, it is economically better than short straight springs are set.

Superfine coiling
Using superfine dies and highly reliable presses, precise coiling can be achieved with a tolerance of 1 micron in a room where the temperature is kept at 20 C +/- 1.
Fine blanking
With fine precision presses, Chuo can offer pressed products in small tolerances. When pressed by fine blanking, there needs no additional treatments such as milling and polishing.
Other than wire and small thin flat springs, there are parts bearing spring functions for automobile use.
Flat spring-clamps

Spiral springs
Used maily in the seat reclining adjusters, they store sufficient energy in a limited space to bounce the seat-back to desired position.
